AT A GLANCE
Simple payback in minutes = total investment cost ÷ (after-upgrade cash/s − before-upgrade cash/s) ÷ 60. The increase must come from the investment and stay constant while online. A zero or negative increase has no finite payback.
Calculate Your Income Investment Payback
- Enter the total investment cost in cash, including every required purchase in the plan.
- Enter your effective income before the investment in cash per second.
- Enter the comparable effective income after the investment in cash per second.
The calculator returns the additional cash earned each second and the online minutes needed for that extra income to cover the investment. It uses the income increase, rather than all the cash you earn after upgrading: your existing income would have continued without the purchase.
The default inputs are editable arithmetic examples, not the price or effect of a particular Pet Dice upgrade. Replace them with your own cost and rates.
Build the Cost and Compare Like-for-Like Rates
Add every required purchase
Choose your starting level and target level. Open UPGRADES through the green upward arrow, select the node, and read its current level, next effect, and purchase price. Add the price of each level you need, plus any required prerequisites you have not already bought.
For Money level 3 → 7, the displayed prices add up to 9,800 + 16,700 + 28,300 + 48,200 = 103,000 cash. That covers four purchases starting at level 3; it does not include the earlier levels. The income bonus rises from +30% to +70%, a gain of 40 percentage points. Use comparable effective cash rates to calculate payback instead of treating that bonus change as a 40% increase in your total income.
Prices abbreviated with K or M retain the precision of the displayed labels. Read each required price rather than extrapolating a cost formula from a few levels. A BUY ALL total covers a batch of upgrades, so use it only when evaluating that entire batch and its attributable income gain. See the upgrade tree guide for node prices, branch requirements, and purchasing controls.
Keep the income comparison consistent
Keep the same pets and other bonuses when recording the before-and-after rates. Use effective income in cash/s, not your cash balance or a one-time reward. If you buy several Money levels together, compare the rate before the first purchase with the rate after the last and use the cost of the whole sequence.
If you buy Luck and Money upgrades while continuing to roll or changing your income setup, the overall income change cannot be assigned to one upgrade. Isolate the investment you want to evaluate so its cost and extra income describe the same purchase plan.
When Payback Is Useful
Use payback to compare income investments with known, sustained cash-rate increases. A shorter result means an investment recovers its cost sooner under the entered conditions; a larger income increase means more extra cash per second after that point. Consider both when choosing where to spend your budget.
Compare the result with how long you expect to keep earning online with that setup. If you change pets or bonuses, the original estimate no longer describes the new income conditions. This calculation does not estimate offline recovery time.
A Luck multiplier is not a cash-per-second increase. To calculate a Luck upgrade's income payback, you would need a separate relationship between better rolls and the extra earnings they produce. A multiplier change alone cannot supply the calculator's income inputs.
For ways to raise your effective rate, see pedestal and income choices. To work out when your balance will reach a purchase price, use the online income and savings calculator. That answers how soon you can afford something; payback answers how long its extra earnings take to recover its cost.
